There is clearly no limit to what can be done with social media, i commend you Amibar. I am going to get as many people hooked as I can

Lots of startups have tried to take the videos your friends share on Facebook (s FB) and turn them into some kind of social video programming, but no one has quite done it like Social Studios. The Los Angeles and Israel-based startup has teamed up with actress Noa Tishby  to actually produce an Entertainment Tonight-like show that features videos, status updates and photos from your Facebook timeline.

Your Show, which launched Monday night, may not have the most compelling title, but the idea behind it is interesting: Social Studios CEO Anat Amibar told me Monday that she got the inspiration for the show when a colleague of hers bought a smart TV a little more than a year ago. They tried out the TV’s Facebook app and immediately thought that this concept can be done better. “Facebook on a smart TV is like an old mobile version…

So now a new product already and we the users of other Galaxy family have to upgrade. The big question for me is how many times I am going to have to upgrade every year. The creative minds that are working around the clock to make sure we have the best products are work. My only solution is to make sure that the Bank is full of the creative Benjamin so that I can keep up. My only hope is that I will get value for money just like I have the last few Galaxy later…

It appears that Samsung has once again joined a growing list of companies that have decided not to release their flagship devices at Mobile World Congress. Reuters reports that the South Korean electronics giant said it will launch its new Galaxy S smartphone on March 14 in  New York after requests from U.S. carriers. We’ve emailed Samsung for confirmation.

One likely reason why Samsung chose New York for its launch is because, as Reuters notes, it is “Apple’s turf” and rivalry between the two is becoming increasingly intense. Launching in New York instead of at this week’s Mobile World Congress also has the added benefit of ensuring that the latest Galaxy S debut will not be lost amid a sea of noise from competitors.

The Galaxy S series has been a cash cow for Samsung, so it’s no surprise that they would want to save it for special events instead…

Sony’s PlayStation 4 made its grand debut today in a presentation with all the theatrical flair to be expected from an electronics company that’s also a media company that’s also a producer and publisher of blockbuster video games. But the pomp hides a hurting heart: Sony’s FY 2012 financial results saw it swallow a $5.74 billion loss, with PS3, PSP and PS2 hardware sales all down versus the previous year. And Microsoft is playing the home media center card to perfection, hedging bets against a future where a dedicated gaming console isn’t the draw it once was.

Sony did more than unveil a next-gen gaming platform today: it answered the question of how it would adapt to this changing world. And the answer might not be what you were expecting: Sony made a point of saying it was moving away from the living room, and putting the gamer at the center of…

Ofcom, the UK communications regulator, has just announced the winners of the UK spectrum auctions for 4G spectrum on the low-frequency 800MHz band, used for LTE and other mobile broadband services. The list is an attempt at playing fair: it includes fixed line incumbent BT; major mobile carriers Vodafone, Telefonica/O2, and EE; as well as smaller mobile upstart Three.

Meanwhile, two applicatants, MLL Telecom and HKT (UK) Company Limited (PCCW and Hong Kong Telecom in Hong Kong), were unsuccessful in their bids, Ofcom said.

In all, some £2.3 billion ($3.6 billion) was bid by the winning carriers, and the first services will come in 6 months. That means it fell short of the £3.5 billion that the UK government thought it might raise, and an even bigger drop down from the £22.5 billion raised by 3G auctions a decade ago.

“Despite all the noise being made about the…

Apple and Google are enemies and partners at the same time due to asymmetric competition. According to a report from Morgan Stanley, Google could pay more than $1 billion in 2014 to remain the default search engine on iOS. In 2009, Google paid only $82 million for the privilege. Analyst Scott Devitt believes that it is a per-device deal growing every year.

According to the report titled “The Next Google Is Google” and the table below, the total traffic acquisition cost is somewhat proportional to the number of iOS unit sales, with a traffic acquisition cost rate slowly going up from $3.2 per unit last year to an estimated $3.3 per unit this year and $3.5 per unit next year. That’s why the total traffic acquisition cost is going to increase in the coming years if iOS sales keep growing.

To put it into perspective, the Mozilla Foundation should get…
